Johan was born in 2000 and began playing the violin at the age of 4. Three years later he made his debut as a soloist with the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra. He has since then performed extensively in the Nordic region and has also appeared in Italy, Austria, Switzerland, South Africa, China and the United Kingdom. He has played at the Musikverein in Vienna and at the Teatro Bibiena in Mantova.
Johan has been a student-in-residence at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland and has been instructed by some of the most distinguished string players of our time, including Detlef Hahn, Henning Kraggerud, Dora Schwarzberg, Alf Richard Kraggerud, Stephan Barratt-Due, Gerhard Schulz, Michael Malmgreen, Olivier Charlier, Ilya Grubert, Pamela Frank and Zakhar Bron. Since 2010, Johan’s regular teacher has been Professor Per Enoksson at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
Johan has been awarded a number of scholarships including G.T.Bäckmans Kulturstipendium, Norrköping Kommuns Kulturstipendium and from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. He plays a Nicolo Gagliano violin from 1765, generously on loan from the Henri Moerel Foundation.
